Geological Survey of Ireland’s Tellus Survey – an Irish geochemical and geophysical mapping project.

The next phase of the Tellus survey is due to commence across eastern Waterford, parts of southern Tipperary, Kilkenny and western Wexford from late-April 2016 before moving across counties Galway, Mayo and neighbouring parts of Roscommon, Offaly, Clare and Tipperary from mid-May.

The survey involves an aircraft flying at a low level of 60m over rural areas and 240m over urban areas collection geological information on the lands and soil of Ireland.
