Apply for the Organic Capital Investment Scheme

Applications are currently open for Tranche 6 of the Organic Capital Investment Scheme (OCIS) operated by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. This Scheme, which is part of the Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3), provides support for costs towards new farm buildings and upgrades as well as specialised equipment and machinery.

Grant aid of up to 60% is available for organic farmers participating in the Organic Farming Scheme, while the rate is 40% for all other applicants. The minimum amount of investment eligible is €2,000 per application, with a maximum investment ceiling per holding of €90,000, increasing to €160,000 for Farm Partnerships registered with the Department.

Other TAMS 3 supports such as the Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) and Low Emission Slurry Spreading Equipment Scheme (LESS) are also available to organic farmers, subject to eligibility. Further information about eligible investments and the Scheme terms and conditions is available on the DAFM website here and for other TAMS 3 supports here.

All TAMS 3 supports are typically open on a rolling basis, with applications processed in Tranches (see current dates below).
