Opportunities for Organic Lamb Sales Workshops

Bord Bia have organised three workshops to explore the organic lamb sector and how markets might be developed to increase sales. This is building on the Organic Lamb Census that was carried out earlier this year. Details of the workshops are outlined below;

Dates & Venues

  • Tuesday 22nd November – Springfort Hall Hotel, Mallow
  •  Tuesday 29th November   –    McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, Mayo
  • Tuesday 6th December   –       Killeshin, Portlaoise, Laois

Topics that will be covered;

  • Overview of National Sheep Census – Declan Fennell, Bord Bia
  •  Developing Irish Organic Beef Exports – Market Requirements & Key Learnings – John Purcell, Goodherdsman
  •  Developing Irish Organic Lamb Exports – James Smyth, Irish Country Meats (Mallow)
  • Developing Irish Organic Lamb Exports – Liam Walsh, Irish Country Meats (Claremorris & Portlaoise)

There will be representatives from Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Teagasc, IOA and the Organic Trust at the above meetings
