New Aquaculture Capital Investment and Seafood Training Schemes Open
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine announced the opening of some schemes relevant to the Aquaculture sector offered by BIM (Bord Iascaigh Mhara) Ireland’s Seafood Development Agency. These schemes include the Aquaculture Capital Investment Scheme and the Seafood Training Scheme.

DAFM Reminder on the Use of Certified Seed and Saved Seed
The Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM) wishes to remind organic operators that the trading or exchange of uncertified seed in any form is illegal. Organic farmers may farm save seed produced on their own holding once it is declared to the Plant Variety Development Office and the required royalty paid.

Take part in Food Waste Charter Networking Event
Food businesses may be interested in participating in a half-day event on reducing food losses and waste along the supply chain organised by the Environmental Protection Agency. The event, taking place on 27 June - 10:00-13:00 - at the Teagasc Ashtown Food Research Centre, will bring together businesses and organisations who wish to sign up to Ireland’s Food Waste Charter.
