The absence of incentives is holding back growth in organic cereals. There is simply not enough product being produced in Ireland to meet current demand. The article looks at the challenges of organic production and also market opportunities. The farmers featured are Des and Olive Thorpe who have been farming organically for 30 years and have pioneered organic production methods from their farm in Old Ross, Co. Wexford.
