Irish Organic Association column in the Farming Independent – A ground up solution to cropping issues

An EU backed project will help develop a new cropping system for Irish organic producers. The Irish Organic Association were one of 13 projects who received funding under the European Innovation Partnership (EIP – Agri) programme being run by the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine. The project called Maximizing Organic Production Systems (MOPS) “will design a cropping system to enable 11 organic growers to work collaboratively to supply growing market demands” said Gillian Westbrook, CEO of the Irish Organic Association and lead applicant on the project.
