National Organic Food Awards 2014

30 July 2014 By IOA Webmaster

Back after a break in 2013, the 2014 awards will be open for entries from the end of July until Friday 5th September. Application forms can be downloaded directly from the Bord Bia website;

http://www.bordbia.ie/consumer/aboutfood/organicfood/Pages/NationalOrganicAwards2014.aspx

This year we are delighted to announce that there are 6 new award categories in 2014

* Best fresh product
* Best processed product
* Best new product
* Export award
* Innovation award
* Direct selling award

The categories will be judged on taste, branding and value for money criteria as well as specific questions for the export, innovation and direct selling awards. The awards are judged by a panel of independent judges. There is added incentive to enter the awards in 2014 because all shortlisted products (3 per category) will receive PR and social media training to make the most of their potential award wins. In addition, they will receive bespoke product and company product shots to promote their shortlisting achievement, as well as media opportunities (national and regional).

Finally, all shortlisted companies will be eligible to participate on a specially designed organic innovation workshop under Bord Bia’s foresight4food programme.
